Holiday breaks really are beautiful, beautiful things. I don't think I could have gotten through another whole school week with my sanity completely in tact. Good news is, I have break until next Monday! HALLELUJAH. And for all you cool cats chillin' Stateside, THANKSGIVING IS TOMORROW!
Ten Reasons Why Thanksgiving is Da Bomb
1) Homemade apple pie. Need I say more?
2) The weather stops PMSing and actually decides to get cold, rather than all this half-hearted overcast business we've been getting lately.
3) I can listen to Christmas music without inhibition. For a Christmas junkie like me, this is a very, VERY exciting thing.
4) Cheesy as it is, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade never gets old.
5) ...and my family happens to be partial to the dog show afterwards as well.
6) You get to sneak inconspicuous amounts of food from the kitchen. My personal favourite illegal treat are the cinnamon and sugar coated apple slices intended for the pie...but since when do I follow rules?
7) I don't know about you guys, but when my family's all together for the holidays, CRAZY stuff happens...like the epic fart noise making contest of '07 or the taboo showdown of '08.
8) Thanksgiving episodes on TV. Let's just admit it, we all know the Thanksgiving-themed Friends episodes were always the best.
9) Lots and lots and lots of sleep. That post-easting binge nap is always spectacular.
10) Leftovers.
I recently had to write a piece for my English class reflecting back on a specific childhood memory. With all that strolling down Memory Lane, Barbies have been on my mind lately. The photos below are the result of that, although this Barbie is more broken-down and raw.

(top: vintage, skirt: F21, boots: Michael Kors, belt making like a necklace: vintage, headband: one of the last remaining mementos of my childhood glitter phase, bow: F21)
I've also been unabashedly stalking the Urban Outfitters site recently. Give it a go sometime, it's an unbeatable procrastinating tool. Since I spent most of the time beefing up my wish list in time for the holidays, I've compiled quite a lust list of pieces I'm itching to get my hands on.

(So upset this is sold out in that delicious green colour//I've been in the mood for a little ponch action to start going on in my wardrobe)

(as a rifler myself, I've been keeping my eyes peeled for some good bullet jewelry//I think that's just about the coolest piece of jewelry I've ever seen)
There's plenty more...but I fear posting it may bring on an EXTREMELY unnecessary shopping spree.
In any case, I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, travel safely! For those of you reading from outside the US, be thankful that your nation doesn't feel the need to celebrate an extremely overly romanticized myth...though I will say you're missing out on the food.
